I came up with the concept of scanning illustrations from one of my art books with plates from Gustave Doré (1832–83), one of the most successful illustrators of the nineteenth century. I recognized similar underlying themes in Pecos Falls to Dore's famous illustrations of Dante's DIVINE COMEDY. I used parts of his work from two different illustrations and combined them in Adobe Photoshop and added the waterfall. Poster on IMDb.
